Descprition from Amazon:

Romp along with parent and child yetis, werewolves, giant lizards, and more as they stir up some monster-sized fun! Readers big and small, young and old, wild and tame, will roar with laughter and take this book by the horns, teeth, and fur… discovering that monsters and humans aren’t so different-especially in the ways they love each other.

What I Liked:

Delightful story, beautiful illustrations, and just slightly morbid. All the ingredients for the perfect children’s book!

Each page has a father and son monster doing their favourite activities together. Whether that be tickling Frankensteins with a bunch of extra bodiless limbs thrown in, skeletons playing catch with a bone in a graveyard, or Bigfoots (Bigfeet?) munching on some camping gear, the results are hilariously endearing.

The words have an excellent pace to them and the rhymes are perfectly timed. So easy to read. And the illustrations? Oh. My. Gosh. I think I’m going to grab some prints for my daughter’s camping bedroom because I am seriously in love with Joey Chou. (Don’t tell my husband.)

I think my favourite scene is the sea/swamp creature page. They’re going “fishing” with some nets under the water, but they’re looking at the unsuspecting swimmers’ legs dangling near the top of the picture. Will they? Won’t they? We’ll never know!

What I Didn’t Like:

The only thing I have to say about this book is that I’m upset that there isn’t a Monster and Daughter book yet. They need to create it. Like, right now. Please. Oh, pretty please.

Extras:

TL;DR:
